After the Delhi blasts, investigating agencies are conducting raids in many states across the country. Security agencies have detained about 1,500 Kashmiris after the blasts, causing an atmosphere of fear among the people of Kashmir. Now, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has targeted the government, raising questions on national security.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said, “You told the world that all is well in Kashmir, but Kashmir’s problems are echoing in front of the Red Fort. You promised to make Jammu and Kashmir safe, but instead of fulfilling that promise, your policies have made Delhi unsafe. I don’t know how many people in the central government are true nationalists.”
He further said that if an educated youth, a doctor, kills himself and others by applying RDX on his body, it means there is no security in the country. You can get votes by playing Hindu-Muslim politics, but where is the country going?
A Kashmiri man attempted suicide due to his detention.
Bilal Wani, a Kashmiri man, attempted suicide after not being allowed to meet his recently detained brother and son. Mehbooba Mufti said, “A few days ago, when the police detained his son Jasir Bilal and brother Naveel Wani, a bereaved father from Wanpora Qazigund set himself on fire. Worried about his safety, he had sought permission from the authorities to meet them, but was denied permission. He has been referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar and is in critical condition.” Mehbooba Mufti had requested the police to at least allow her to meet her detained family members.
More revelations in Delhi blast investigation
As the investigation into the Delhi blasts progresses, more revelations are coming to light. About 13 people were killed in this explosion. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday said it has arrested one of the key conspirators in the Red Fort blast case. For the first time, the NIA has named the car driver Umar as a suicide bomber.
