New Delhi, December 2 (IANS). The number of Aadhaar authentication transactions increased by 8.47 percent year-on-year to 231 crore in November. This shows the increasing usage of Aadhaar as well as the growth of the digital economy in the country. This statement was given by the government on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT said that the Aadhaar authentication transactions last month were the highest compared to any other month of this financial year. In October this number was 219.51 crore.
“The growing usage reflects how Aadhaar is playing the role of a facilitator in the delivery of effective welfare schemes and the voluntary availing of the services offered by service providers,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Aadhaar face authentication solutions are witnessing continuous growth. Aadhaar face authentication has been used in almost 60 per cent of the digital life certificates issued by pensioners during November.
This AI based face authentication method of UIDAI works on both Android and iOS platforms. It enables users to verify their identity with just a face scan, ensuring convenience while also adhering to stringent security standards.
The ministry said that 28.29 crore face authentication transactions were made in November 2025, while the number of such transactions during the same period in 2024 was 12.04 crore.
An increase in e-KYC transactions has also been recorded during November. 47.19 crore such transactions were recorded during the month, which is more than 24 percent compared to November 2024. Aadhaar e-KYC service continues to be a catalyst in improving customer experience and enhancing ease of doing business across sectors including banking and non-banking financial services.
