New Delhi, December 5 (IANS). Due to the cancellation of a large number of flights by Indigo, the ticket prices of domestic flights of all other major airlines in the country have skyrocketed on Friday.
Air India’s ticket price from Delhi to Bengaluru with one stop on Friday has reached Rs 1.02 lakh, while Akasa Air’s ticket price for the same route is Rs 39,000.
The ticket price of Air India on Delhi-Mumbai route has reached Rs 60,000, the ticket price of Air India Express on Chennai-Delhi route has reached Rs 41,000 and the ticket price of SpiceJet has reached Rs 69,000.
The prices of flights flying from Hyderabad have also reached a high level. Air India ticket price on Hyderabad-Delhi route with one stop has reached Rs 87,000. At the same time, the price of Air India ticket on Hyderabad-Mumbai route has increased to more than Rs 41,000 and the ticket price of Air India Express has increased to Rs 36,100.
Delhi Airport issued advisory for passengers saying that all domestic IndiGo flights from the airport are canceled till midnight today.
More than 220 Indigo flights have been canceled in Delhi alone. More than 100 flights have been canceled in Bengaluru and around 90 flights have been canceled in Hyderabad.
To normalize airline operations, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced relaxation in some pilot duty rules with immediate effect.
To control this growing crisis, the aircraft regulator has now, in its latest notification, announced relaxation in the rule in which airlines were barred from combining the leave with the weekly rest of the pilots.
In the new notification, DGCA said that in view of the difficulties and problems being faced by many airlines at present and to ensure continuity and stability in operations, a review of this provision has been considered necessary.
The regulator further said, “The order prohibiting airlines from combining leave with weekly rest of pilots is withdrawn with immediate effect.”
