New Delhi. The crisis of Indigo Airlines has not stopped yet and the process of cancellation of planes continues. Today, for the seventh day, more than 200 Indigo flights have been canceled across the country. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has refused speedy hearing in the Indigo crisis case. Chief Justice Surya Kant said that the government is taking steps in this matter, let them handle it. The court said that we cannot run an airline. The court said, lakhs of people are struggling with this problem and we understand this but the government is taking action.

Let us tell you that the petitioner’s lawyer had reached CJI Surya Kant’s house on December 6 and demanded him to take suo motu cognizance of the case and conduct an immediate hearing. On the other hand, a petition has also been filed in the Delhi High Court regarding the cancellation of hundreds of Indigo flights. The petitioner has requested the High Court to direct the Center to provide relief to the affected people. This petition will be listed for hearing in Delhi High Court on Wednesday. Earlier on Saturday, the government had banned arbitrary fares of airlines.

The government had clarified that all airlines cannot sell tickets at a price higher than the fair cap i.e. the maximum fare limit. Along with this, the government had fixed the fare for a distance of 500 km at Rs 7500 and for 500-1000 km at Rs 12 thousand. At the same time, the maximum fare has been fixed at Rs 18 thousand. However, this fare limit will not be applicable for business class. On the other hand, Indian Railways came forward to help by installing 116 additional coaches in 37 premium trains, although it could not bring the situation under control. The Civil Aviation Ministry has also constituted a 4-member committee for a high-level investigation into the IndiGo crisis.
