New Delhi. Elon Musk’s company Starlink, which is going to launch its satellite internet service in India very soon, has now revealed the price of the plan. The starting price of Starlink’s domestic plans will be Rs 8600. Users will also be charged a hardware fee of Rs 34,000. Starlink claims that its service will provide 99.9 percent uptime and weather-proof connectivity with unlimited data. However, a 30-day trial will also be given by the company. Not only this, since it is satellite based, it can be installed and used anywhere in the country.
According to Starlink company, users will be able to use unlimited data during the 30 day trial. It is believed that initially Starlink will be launched in select cities and later it will be expanded in a phased manner. Let us tell you that Starlink has received formal approval to start satellite internet service in India. However, at present no information has been given by the company regarding the launching date. There is a possibility that Starlink may launch its internet service in India in the next quarter.
However, at present the price of Internet plans kept by Musk’s company is a bit of a shock for the common users because it was expected that in view of the competition, Musk will launch his plans at cheaper rates. Let us tell you that Elon Musk had been wanting to launch his company Starlink in India for the last several years, but due to some reason or the other, his plans were not working out. In March this year, Starlink’s deal was signed with Sunil Bharti Mittal’s company Bharti Airtel. A few days later, Starlink also signed an agreement with Mukesh Ambani’s Jio. Later the company also got GMPCS license.
