Club owners and accused in the Goa club fire case Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra fled to Phuket in Thailand soon after the incident, Goa Police said in a press note on Monday. According to the press note, the police are coordinating with the Interpol division of the CBI to nab the two accused. The police have said that traveling to Phuket shows their “intention to evade investigation”.
Goa Police said, “Immediately after the FIR was registered, the police acted swiftly and sent a team to Delhi to raid the addresses of accused Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra. Since they were not available, a notice was pasted at their house under appropriate sections of the law. By the evening of December 7, LOC was issued against the duo by the BOI on the request of the Goa Police. Additionally, the Bureau of Immigration in Mumbai was contacted, and it was found that That the two accused took flight 6E 1073 to Phuket at 5.30 am on December 7, immediately after the incident, which occurred around midnight, shows their intention to avoid police investigation.”
“Goa Police has taken steps to coordinate with the Interpol Division of CBI to nab Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra at the earliest. As reported earlier, Goa Police apprehended a person named Bharat Kohli from Delhi and has obtained his transit remand to bring him to Goa for further questioning. Meanwhile, PME of all the deceased has been conducted and the bodies have been handed over to their families,” the police said in a statement.
