New Delhi. On the occasion of completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, this issue is being discussed in another Parliament. On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani has given a big statement regarding Vande Mataram. Madani said, we believe in one God (Allah), neither do we consider anyone worthy of worship except Allah nor do we prostrate before anyone. We accept death, but shirk (associating someone with God) is never acceptable.
We have no objection to anyone reciting or singing “Vande Mataram”. However, a Muslim worships only one Allah and cannot associate anyone else with Him in worship.

Madani wrote in a long post on social media, we have no objection to anyone reading or singing Vande Mataram, but a Muslim worships only one Allah and cannot include anyone else in his worship except Allah. The translation of Vande Mataram is based on beliefs related to Shirk, in its four verses the country is considered a deity and compared to ‘Durga Mata’ and words of worship have been used. Also, ‘Mother, I worship you’, this is the meaning of Vande Mataram. It is against the religious faith of any Muslim, therefore no one can be forced to sing any slogan or song against his faith because the Constitution of India gives religious freedom (Article 25) and freedom of expression (Article 19) to every citizen.
Madani said, loving the country is one thing, worshiping it is a different thing. Muslims do not need anyone’s certificate for patriotism. His sacrifices in the freedom struggle are recorded in the golden pages of history. Earlier, Madani had said on Vande Mataram that dead communities surrender. He will say, say Vande Mataram, then people will start reading. Along with this, Madani raised questions on the Supreme Court of the country and said that if there is oppression, then there will be Jihad.
