New Delhi, December 13 (IANS). An invitation letter has been issued by Vishwa Hindu Parishad to the people of Hindu society. This letter has been issued by Indraprastha Province Minister Surendra Gupta, in which an appeal has been made to discharge one’s religious conduct with cultural awareness, self-control and self-respect in the present times.

Provincial Minister Surendra Gupta said that the soul of India lies in Sanatan Dharma and Hindu culture, which our sages, saints and ancestors have preserved through thousands of years of practice. It is also an established fact that organized religious conversion efforts have been active in different parts of the country for a long time.

He said that in such an environment, if the Hindu society without any conscience adopts or celebrates religious festivals associated with other religions, then it inadvertently gives social acceptance and convenience to those efforts, which can have a long-term impact on the cultural continuity of Sanatan Dharma and Hindu society.

Surendra Gupta said that in this context, Vishwa Hindu Parishad makes a humble but clear appeal to the Hindu society not to celebrate religious festivals like Christmas in any form. This is not a matter of opposition to any person or community, but a question of protection of one’s religion and tradition.

Along with this, an appeal has also been made to consider not buying from such shopkeepers and business establishments who, despite being Hindus themselves, decorate their shops by putting up boards like ‘Happy Christmas’ only for the purpose of commercial gain. This trend promotes cultural confusion and self-deprecation.

Surendra Gupta said that Hindu society should give priority to its festivals, traditions, rituals and cultural values and should create pride and consciousness towards them in the coming generations also.

He said that this appeal is not being made for conflict or animosity towards anyone, but in the spirit of peaceful cultural awareness, prudent conduct and self-respect.

The provincial minister said that the Hindu society should remember, ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah’, that is, the one who protects the religion, the religion protects him.

Surendra Gupta said that the need of the hour is that the Hindu society should come forward as organized, alert and responsible citizens to protect Sanatan Dharma, Hindu culture and the civilizational identity of India. This letter will also be given to those shopkeepers and shopping mall officials who decorate their shops or malls with ‘Happy Christmas’ written on 25th December. It will also be sent to the principals of those schools where Hindu children study and the school administration celebrates Christmas on 25th December.
