The Government of India has declared the Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day on 14 August. India-Pakistan was partitioned on this day. Due to which the lives of millions of people were badly affected. Meanwhile, NCERT has announced a new module to better understand the issue. It is being told that now children will understand the history of India-Pakistan partition with this new module of NCERT. The new module holds Congress, Jinnah and Lord Mountbatten responsible for partition.

Two modules of NCERT
According to the information, the module issued by NCERT has been released under the title ‘Criminal of Partition’. This new module has been prepared separately for students of classes 6 to 8 and classes 9 to 12 separately. Significantly, this module will not be taught as a lesson in any class. Rather it is to be presented as supplementary educational material, through which children have to be taught through posters, debates, projects and discussions.
Leaders had different opinions during partition
According to the module, at the time of independence, the big leaders of the country had different opinions about the division. It is said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was against partition from the beginning. However, he later accepted it somehow. At a General Assembly in Bombay in July 1947, he said that the country has now become a battleground. Both communities in the country can no longer live peacefully. In such a situation, there should be division.
Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of India, said that I did not divide India. This was accepted by Indian leaders themselves. He had said that my job was only to implement it peacefully. I made a hasty mistake. But whatever happened after partition, Indians were responsible for it. It was told in this special module that Mahatma Gandhi was against this division. He said in a prayer meeting on 9 August 1947 that if the Congress accepts the division of partition, it would be against my advice, but I will not oppose it with violence or anger. However, during this time such circumstances arose that Nehru and Sardar Patel accepted the partition for fear of civil war.
Results worsen due to haste
According to the new NCERT module, Lord Mountbatten made a major mistake. Mountbatten reduced the date of transfer from June 1948 to August 1947. However, only 5 weeks time was available to complete the division. Even after several days of partition, millions of people of Punjab did not know whether they became citizens of India or from Pakistan.
Political pride on the module
Now there is political fierce battle on NCERT. The Congress has denied this module wrong. Congress leader Sandeep Dixit said, “I challenge NCERT to discuss partition. Today, he (BJP’s) has NCERT. He does not know anything about partition.”
