New Delhi, December 25 (IANS). Back pain has become a very common problem in today’s busy life. It can happen to anyone, at any age. In most cases, back pain is caused by our daily habits and lifestyle. Sitting in wrong posture for hours, muscle strain, obesity or stress can be many causes of back pain.
The problem of back pain can be relieved by practicing trunk movement or lumbar development. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India states that trunk movement or Katishakti Vikasak is an important yoga exercise, which helps in increasing the flexibility of the spine. This is important for strengthening the back and it is recommended to include it in your daily routine. This exercise is part of micro exercise, which increases the strength of the lumbar region of the body.
Trunk movements or lumbar development involve movements of the trunk, such as forward bending, back bending, left-right twists, or rotations. It makes the spine flexible and strengthens the waist muscles. It is effective in improving back health. Regular practice of lumbar strength developer reduces back pain, improves posture and increases body flexibility. This is especially beneficial for those people who work sitting for long periods of time.
Trunk movement exercises increase spinal flexibility, thereby strengthening the back. This strengthens the muscles of the entire body, improves blood circulation and reduces stress. Doing this daily provides relief from problems like back pain, slip disc etc. The special thing is that it also improves the digestive system and provides energy to the body.
Yoga experts say that this exercise can be done standing or sitting. It is important to maintain coordination with the breath. First of all, bend forward or backward while inhaling, come back while exhaling. Do it slowly and in a controlled manner. Initially repeat 5-10 times and gradually increase. Do it in the morning on an empty stomach.
Practicing trunk movements is beneficial for people of all ages. However, it is also important to take some precautions. According to yoga expert, always do it slowly in coordination with breathing. Heart patients should be careful and consult a doctor. Avoid this exercise if you have severe back pain, vertebral or intervertebral disc problems. Women should not do it during periods. If you feel any discomfort during the exercise, stop immediately. It is better to start under the supervision of a yoga instructor.
