Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that during the Kovid-19 global epidemic, we are losing more people every year in road accidents than the people who lost in three years.
Chief Minister Yogi launched and laid the foundation and foundation stone of various services of the Transport Department at Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow.
He congratulated the department and said that the Transport Department is the biggest medium of public transport in the state and will have to become the charioteer of the concept of developed India.
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has the largest fleet in the country and providing such a large number of services is an achievement in itself, but with this the challenges are not less.
Yogi said, “Road safety is a serious challenge for the state. More people are killed every year in road accidents. Most of them are young, which makes families destroy. This is a matter of concern for both society and government.”
He said that the safety of every person walking on the road is the responsibility of the Transport Department and if the life of a passenger is saved, it creates a positive image of the department but due to carelessness, not only the department is infamous but also there is financial loss.
The Chief Minister directed that regular medical and physical tests of bus drivers should be compulsorily conducted every three months.
He said that especially eye checking is necessary so that accidents do not occur due to vision defect.
Yogi said that the road cannot be allowed to drive on the road.
The Chief Minister said that road safety is not only of the government or department but also the common responsibility of every section, village-city, young, men and women of the society and when all the people join it, road accidents can be brought to a minimum level.
He said that the high -accident areas were identified through an app developed by the Uttar Pradesh Police, causing the number of accidents to decrease from 18 to three in a month in many places.
