Morena. The havoc of high speed was seen in Porsa police station area of Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday night. At Jotai Road Bypass intersection, a speeding and uncontrolled Swift car crushed five people who were having a bonfire on the roadside. In this tragic accident, two people died during treatment, while others are seriously injured. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of immense tension and anger in the entire area. According to the information, to escape the harsh cold, some people were warming themselves by lighting bonfires on the roadside. Meanwhile, a speeding Swift car came out of control and ran over the people sitting there. The collision was so strong that many people jumped and fell away. There was chaos at the spot after the accident. Local people immediately took the injured to the hospital. According to doctors, the condition of two of the five injured was very serious. After first aid, everyone was referred to Morena District Hospital, from where the seriously injured were referred to Gwalior. Two people died during treatment.
The allegation regarding this accident is that the car was being driven by a local BJP leader. Eyewitnesses say that immediately after the accident, they caught the BJP leader in the car on the spot and handed him over to the police. However, villagers allege that due to political pressure the police released the accused. There was huge resentment among the people regarding this matter.
Angered by the lack of action against the accused, the villagers and the relatives of the injured surrounded the Porsa police station and started a dharna. The protesters demand that a case should be registered against the accused BJP leader under strict sections and he should be arrested immediately. Besides, questions are also being raised on the role of police.
