Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on Saturday. Prime Minister Modi is visiting Manipur for the first time after communal violence erupted in May 2023. During his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of various development schemes in the Maetayi-dominated Imphal as well as cookie-dominated Chuda Chandpur.
It is being said that this visit of the Prime Minister will pave the way for permanent peace in Manipur, which has been struggling with ethnic violence for a long time. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach Chuda Chandpur from Aizawl in Mizoram at around 12:30 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Manipur for the first time after communal violence erupted in May 2023. The opposition has been raising the issue of the Prime Minister not going to Manipur for the last several months.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit will begin with Mizoram’s Aizawl, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 9,000 crore.
These include the Bairabi-Girang railway line, 45 km long Eisol bypass road, Theinjol-Siyalasuk and Khankawan-Rongura roads and an LPG bottling plant in Mualkhang.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the Khelo India multipurpose indoor hall on the Chimatuipui River Bridge and Longlai-Siaha Road. New train services connecting Azol to Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata will also be inaugurated.
Prime Minister Modi will also visit Churachandpur in Manipur. It is believed that it is a large population area of the cookie community. It was one of the worst affected areas during racial violence. 260 people lost their lives in communal violence in Manipur. Prime Minister Modi will be the first Prime Minister to visit Churachandpur in 1988 after Rajiv Gandhi.
At 2.30 pm on Saturday afternoon, Prime Minister Modi will visit Imphal, the capital of Manipur, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of more than Rs 1200 crore. He will also address a public meeting here.
In Imphal, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new Manipur Police Headquarters built at a cost of Rs 101 crore and the new civil secretariat constructed at the same area at a cost of Rs 538 crore. In addition, they will also inaugurate the drainage of Rs 3,647 crore and other projects including the asset management reform system and the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project of Rs 550 crore.
On Prime Minister Modi’s visit, Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel said that the Prime Minister’s visit will pave the way for peace, general situation and rapid development in the state. He said that on behalf of the state government and the Government of India, I request the people of Manipur to come forward to welcome the Prime Minister to the state and participate in a large number of programs.
At the same time, PM Modi wrote in a post on Friday that I will participate in programs in Churachandpur and Imphal on 13 September tomorrow. We are fully committed to pursue the inclusive and overall development of Manipur. The foundation stone of road projects, national highway projects, women hostels and other projects will be laid.
After the violence erupted in Manipur on 3 May 2023, President’s rule has now been imposed in the state. A tribal solidarity march was organized in the hilly districts to protest against the demand for Scheduled Tribes status by the Maetai community in the state. 260 people have lost their lives in communal violence in Manipur.
