Panchkula, 13 September (). The Ashwini Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Championship is being organized by the Haryana Badminton Association. The badminton championship began on Saturday at the multipurpose hall of Sector 3 Tau Devi Lal Stadium, in which Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini arrived at the inauguration program of Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Championship.
The badminton championship is being organized under the chairmanship of Gyanchand Gupta, former Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly, in which boys and girls of under 15 and 17 age groups are participating.
Around 2,000 players from different states of the country have arrived to participate in this championship. The players selected in this selection tournament will play in the Badminton Championship to be held in China.
The qualifying round of this championship will be held between 13–17 September. The main draw matches will be played from 18-21 September. The girls’ qualifying matches will be held at AM Badminton Academy in Zirakpur.
The Ashwini Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Championships will get a chance to show their talent. Along with this, there will be an impact in his ranking, so that he can be selected in the national team or big tournaments later.
This initiative of Haryana Badminton Association will give players experience of high level competition at an early age. The purpose of this competition is to bring out the talent of the players and prepare them for the future.
Along with this, organizing Ashwini Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Championship will contribute to make badminton popular across the state and across the country.
The event will develop sportsmanship, discipline and team spirit among the players. With this, players will be motivated to improve fitness and technical skills at the initial level of the game. Young players will be mentally and technically ready to play internationally in future.
