Delhi High Court on Monday sought response from CBI on the petition of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav against the order to frame charges in the alleged IRCTC scam case.
Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma refused to stay the trial for the time being and said that this cannot be done without considering the reply of the investigating agency.Now the next hearing in this case will be on January 14.
The High Court, while hearing the petition, has issued notice to all the parties. The court has asked CBI to file its reply in this case. After this the court will hear the case next. The IRCTC scam case pertains to a tender related to the railways and the operation of hotels. This matter pertains to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister in the Central Government. CBI had filed the charge sheet in this case after investigation.
In fact, on October 13, charges were framed against RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. In such a situation, Lalu Yadav had challenged the lower court’s order framing charges, after which a hearing was held in the Delhi High Court today. But the court has not given them relief.
