Bengaluru, January 13 (IANS). Myntra, one of the country’s largest online fashion, beauty and lifestyle platforms, on Tuesday announced the launch of four initiatives under its CSR and sustainability wing, Myntra Cares, with two main focus areas including mobility-enabled livelihoods and education under Minevidya.

One initiative is Livelihoods on Wheels which focuses on creating employment and self-reliance for people with disabilities through mobility support; Other programs under Mynvidya aim to contribute to Myntra Cares’ commitment to strengthening education at different stages.

Livelihoods on Wheels, in collaboration with Alamba Charitable Trust, aims to provide permanent employment to 20 disabled people. Under this programme, each beneficiary will be given a Neomotion mobility device worth Rs 1,10,000, which will enable them to move around freely. The beneficiaries identified and selected by the Trust will be employed as delivery agents, providing them with stable income opportunities. With this help, it is expected that participants will be able to earn Rs 25,000-30,000 every month.

Speaking about the initiative, Rita Antony, Founder-President, Alamba Charitable Trust, said, “Mobility should never be a barrier to opportunity. With Myntra Cares, we are giving people with disabilities the tools, training and sustainable livelihood options they need to earn independence while also regaining their confidence and dignity. This is truly a step towards inclusive empowerment. It’s a step.”

Myntra Cares continues to run education-focused programs that support students at different stages of their studies.

Myntra has partnered with Links Educational and Charitable Trust to provide primary education to 90 children from migrant labor families who have never received formal schooling before. The program is run from a dedicated learning center near Myntra’s Bengaluru headquarters and supports students through the National Open School System, covering Levels 1, 2 and 3 (which are equivalent to Grades 3, 5 and 7).

Myntra Cares, in collaboration with Community, is taking the initiative to transform the school infrastructure at BKMS School, a government-aided institution near Commercial Street, Bengaluru. The phased renovation, scheduled to take place between October 2025 and March 2026, includes classroom upgrades, sanitation facilities, lighting, wiring and digital learning infrastructure.

To support access to higher education, Myntra Cares has partnered with Buddy4Study to provide scholarships to 175 students, including 75 from traditional artisan families and 100 from low-income garment worker families. Eligible students will receive Rs 20,000 on a reimbursement basis and will be supported for three years after graduation in STEAM subjects.

Speaking on these initiatives, Govindraj MK, Chief HR Officer, Myntra, said, “Through Myntra Cares, we are addressing the specific needs of the community. We are providing employment opportunities through mobility, while also continuing to invest in education under Minevidya. All these initiatives together reflect our commitment towards structured, long-term community engagement.”

Speaking about the school transformation initiative, Hafiz Khan, Founder, Community, said, “The BKMS School Transformation Project is more than just infrastructure; it is about creating an environment where children from underprivileged backgrounds can learn, grow and dream. We are excited to partner with Myntra to give a new life to this historic building and create a brighter future for its students.”

Speaking on this collaboration, Urvi Jariwala, Founder-Trustee, Links Educational & Charitable Trust, said, “At Links Trust, we believe that every child, no matter where he or she comes from, deserves a fair chance at a bright future. Children of migrant workers often bear the burden of displacement and economic hardships, but with this collaboration with Myntra Cares, we are turning hope into opportunity. Together, we are 90 “Helping children access good education, giving them not just books and classrooms, but also a path to dream, learn and grow with dignity.”

Speaking on the scholarship initiative, Ashutosh Burnwal, Founder, Buddy4Study Foundation, said, “Through our collaboration with Myntra, we are able to reach out to deserving students from families of artisans and textile workers, who often do not get financial support for higher education. By combining our operational platform with Myntra’s strong community network, we aim to empower the next generation with education and skills so that they can thrive.”

These initiatives mark the expansion of Myntra’s voluntary CSR efforts, reflecting a holistic approach to community development. By bringing together dedicated partners and focusing on measurable impact, Myntra aims to drive long-term change that creates pathways to education, skills and sustainable livelihoods.
