Coldest morning of January in three years, mercury dropped by 2 degrees in Noida
The minimum temperature in the capital Delhi was recorded at just 3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, which is considered to be the coldest morning of January in the last three years. At the same time, the situation was even worse in Noida adjacent to Delhi. Here the mercury dropped to 2 degrees Celsius, due to which people had to face extreme chill. If we look at the data of Safdarjung Observatory, the minimum temperature there was recorded 4.4 degrees below normal. Amidst this outbreak of cold wave, the temperature in Palam was recorded at 4 degrees, while at Lodhi Road also it was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius.
Condition of NCR cities: Cold wave outbreak from Gurugram to Ghaziabad
Cold wave has taken over the entire NCR. According to the rules, when the minimum temperature falls between 4.5 to 6.5 degrees Celsius, cold wave conditions are declared, but now the temperature has gone below this. The temperature conditions (in degrees Celsius) in major cities of NCR were as follows:

Impact of western disturbance till January 15, hope of getting slight relief
Amidst this severe cold, the Meteorological Department has warned that the cold wave will continue in NCR on Wednesday also. However, the news of relief is that the effect of Western Disturbance will be visible till January 15. Due to this, there is a possibility of some change in the weather patterns. There may be light cloud cover in Delhi in the coming days, due to which there may be a slight increase in the minimum and maximum temperatures and people may get some respite from this melting cold.
