Ahmedabad, January 23 (IANS). Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) on Friday said the company’s energy sales grew by 37 per cent year-on-year in the first nine months of FY26, supported by capacity expansion and strong operating performance.

The company said its operational capacity has increased by 48 percent year-on-year to 17.2 gigawatts. During this period the company has added green field capacity of 5.6 gigawatt. This is 14 percent of the solar and wind capacity added in the country.

AGEN added 2,995 MW of greenfield capacity in the nine months of FY26, which is more than 90 per cent of the capacity addition in the entire FY25.

In the first nine months of FY26, the company’s income has increased by 25 percent year-on-year to Rs 8,508 crore. EBITDA has increased by 24 percent year-on-year to Rs 7,921 crore.

Ashish Khanna, CEO, Adani Green Energy, said, “In calendar year 2026, Adani Green Energy continues its extraordinary growth momentum by adding 5.6 GW of renewable energy capacity, which is approximately 14 percent of the total new solar and wind energy capacity installed across India.”

This achievement further strengthens our position as the country’s leading green energy provider, and our operational capacity now reaches 17.2 GW.

Khanna further said, “Our historic Khavra project, the world’s largest renewable energy project, is progressing rapidly. We are on track to install one of the world’s largest single-site battery energy storage projects in the coming months. Our pumped storage project on Chitravathi river in Andhra Pradesh is also running on schedule.”

AGEN said the company has generated more than 27 billion units of electricity in the nine months of FY26. This is so much electricity, through which the electricity needs of a country like Azerbaijan can be met for one year.

AGEN is making rapid progress in the development of a massive 30 GW renewable energy plant at Khavra, Gujarat. The plant is spread over an area of 538 square kilometres, which is almost five times larger than the city of Paris. The project is setting a global benchmark for the development of ultra-large scale renewable energy plants.
