Kolkata, January 26 (IANS). The political atmosphere is heating up before the assembly elections in West Bengal. A clash was witnessed between supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Behala West area of Kolkata on Sunday. BJP leader Rahul Sinha targeted TMC regarding this incident.
He told IANS that TMC is resorting to violence in fear of defeat even before the elections. TMC has gone mad. They are attacking in fear of defeat even before the elections, but the people of West Bengal have never supported violence and will not do so in future also. The public will respond to this violence in a democratic manner.
Appealing to the Election Commission, he said that strict action should be taken against any party which is looting and intimidating West Bengal through violence. Rahul Sinha said that the situation in the state is very worrying.
The BJP leader alleged that ‘Jungle Raj’ is going on in West Bengal. Here, not only BJP workers but also central agencies like Election Commission and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are being attacked. The people of Bengal will definitely respond to what TMC is doing.
Rahul Sinha said, “Health Minister is Mamata Banerjee, she has failed, Police Minister is Mamata Banerjee, she has also failed. If the name of any minister comes who has failed in her work, it is Mamata Banerjee, who has both the departments. She has failed, she is a useless minister.”
He said, “BLOs have been put under pressure in different ways so that they do not give correct reports. We feel that now the Election Commission has put pressure on the BLOs to reveal the names on which the Trinamool leader had put pressure and I am telling you that in a few days a notification will be issued and the police administration will come under the Election Commission.”
