New Delhi, February 1 (IANS). In today’s digital age, increasing dependence on computers and other gadgets is dangerous for eye health. Watching mobile, computer and TV screens for a long time causes a lot of pressure on the eyes, due to which problems like dry eyes, headache, blurred vision and eye irritation have become common. In such a situation, eyes can be kept healthy by doing some exercises. It is effective in removing increasing eye fatigue and weakness.

Eyes are the most important part of the body and not taking care of them can lead to serious problems in future like weak vision or other eye diseases. Adopting these simple exercises regularly keeps eyesight strong, reduces stress and increases concentration.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the Ministry has advised to do light exercise daily and follow simple rules for eye health. The Ministry of AYUSH has emphasized on adopting the 20-20-20 rule as the most effective rule. According to this rule, take a break from work every 20 minutes, remove your eyes from the screen and look at an object at a distance of 20 feet (about 6 meters) for 20 seconds. This small exercise relaxes the eye muscles, changes focus, reduces eye strain and relieves eye fatigue.

Experts say that this rule proves to be very beneficial for students and office workers working on screens. Apart from this, the ministry has also suggested some other simple measures for eye care. Do palming for 2-3 minutes every morning and evening, for this, rub both the palms, warm them and keep them on closed eyes. This provides deep relief to the eyes.

Do trataka, such as staring at a candle flame or a black dot without blinking for a few seconds, then close your eyes. Lightly massage the eyes. Also move the eyes up-down, right-left, round and round and change the focus from near to far. The most important is to reduce screen time, study or work in good light and get enough sleep.
