Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has unveiled a comprehensive redevelopment plan for Umm Suqeim Beach, one of the city’s major tourist destinations. The ambitious project, costing 500 million dirhams, aims to completely revamp the beach and provide world-class facilities for visitors and residents. The project reflects Dubai’s commitment to developing the city’s public spaces in line with international standards.
A historic step towards beautifying the beaches and further improving the quality of life of residents under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan
This mega project aligns perfectly with the vision of the ‘Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan’, the main goal of which is to make Dubai the best city in the world to live, work and visit. Under the plan approved by Sheikh Hamdan, not only Umm Suqaim but also parts of Al Mamzar Beach will be rejuvenated. This initiative will expand public beaches and create new recreational opportunities on Dubai’s coastline, which will also significantly boost tourism.
Umm Suqaim 1 and 2 to get complete makeover with smart technology, night swimming and special facilities for pedestrians
Under this 500 million dirham project, the beaches of Umm Suqaim 1 and Umm Suqaim 2 will be equipped with modern facilities. In the new scheme, special arrangements will be made for night swimming, which is very popular in Dubai. Apart from this, new jogging and cycling tracks will be built for health and fitness conscious people. Beautiful walkways will be constructed for pedestrians and modern and smart facilities will also be expanded for the convenience of visitors.
Emphasis on developing modern infrastructure while maintaining natural beauty, so that Dubai can further strengthen its global identity in the future
The biggest feature of this redevelopment project is that it has been designed keeping in mind the natural beauty of the beach and the environment there. Umm Suqaim Beach, famous for its spectacular sunsets and iconic views of the Burj Al Arab, will now become even more attractive. The Government of Dubai is continuously expanding its public beach network to provide residents with the best places to relax and enjoy, and this new investment is an important part of this process that will further strengthen the city’s global image.
