The traffic police has completed its preparations for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be held from 16 to 20 February in Delhi. More than 4,000 traffic policemen will be deployed to ensure that the traffic does not stop in the city during this big event. Delhi Police has made it clear that there is no need for the general public to worry because this time strict restrictions are not being imposed like the previous G-20 summit.

ℹ️: New railway line will be laid between West Bengal and Jharkhand, Railways approved the survey of Siuri-Nala route.

Will schools and offices remain closed?

Often, during such big events, Delhiites fear closure of roads or lockdown. But this time the traffic police has made it clear that ‘business as usual’ will remain in the city. This means that all schools, private offices and markets in Delhi will remain open. Keeping in mind the safety and time of children, separate ‘alternative routes’ have been prepared for school buses so that they do not have to get stuck in traffic jams.

How will the traffic plan and police deployment be?

Delhi is divided into 10 zones and 22 sectors for traffic management. 10 DCP rank officers will be present on the spot to monitor this entire arrangement. The main focus of the police will be on Bharat Mandapam, Connaught Place, IGI Airport and those hotels in South Delhi where foreign guests stay. Apart from this, the traffic police is also starting a ‘Virtual Help Desk’, where people will be able to get live information about the routes through phone or internet.

Smart technology and program information

This time Delhi Police is also testing smart glasses and facial recognition system to handle traffic. The main event of the summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam of Pragati Maidan, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 February. Apart from this, an exhibition will be organized for the public in the Central Park of Connaught Place from 16th to 20th February. NDMC has also intensified the work of filling potholes on roads and removing stray animals.
