Varanasi: This year, on the initiative of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, participation of major temples across the country is being seen. As a mark of respect, makeup and worship material has been sent to Baba Vishwanath from a total of 18 temples in different states. Temple Trust Executive Officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said on Monday that gift material has been sent from Shri Krishna’s birthplace in Mathura to Lord Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Apart from this, gift material has also been received from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Jammu.
He said that proposals for participation have also been received from many reputed temples of Tamil Nadu. Prominent among them are Chidambaram Temple, Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Draupadi Amman Temple, Thirukandeshwaram Temple, Sabanayagar Temple, Periya Nayagi Amman Temple, Sangari Kali Amman Temple, Veda Aghorpureshwar Temple and Kumaraguru Parameshwara Temple. Apart from this, a proposal to send gifts has also been received from Shri Siddhivinayak Temple of Mumbai.
Thus, on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, devotional material is being sent to Lord Shri Vishwanath from a total of 18 temples from different parts of the country. The temple trust has expressed gratitude towards the management, priests and devotees of all the participating temples. The Trust has also said that in future, on the occasion of major festivals of the respective temples, gifts will be sent as a mark of respect from Kashi Vishwanath Temple. According to the Trust, such an initiative is an effort towards strengthening the cultural and spiritual coordination between various pilgrimage sites under the Sanatan tradition.
