India and Singapore on Thursday unveiled a roadmap to expand their comprehensive strategic partnership in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Singapuri counterpart Lawrence Wong, underlining the need to strengthen the relationship between the current geopolitical upheaval in the world.
Wong reached New Delhi on Tuesday. Modi and Wong held extensive talks on the entire dimension of bilateral relations. Modi said in Wong’s presence that India-Singapur relations are far ahead of diplomacy.
The Prime Minister said that both sides have decided that cooperation between the two countries will be increased in the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum and other digital technologies.
Modi said in his statement to the media, “Our concerns about terrorism are the same.” He said, “We believe that fighting solidarity against terrorism is the duty of all countries that believe in humanity.”
Modi said that the partnership between the two countries is based on common values and is directed by a shared point of view for mutual interests and peace and prosperity.
At the same time, Wong said that the partnership between India and Singapore becomes even more important in a world full of uncertainty and unrest.
After the Modi-Vong talks, several agreements were signed between the two sides. The agreement on digital asset innovation between the Reserve Bank of India and the ‘Monetary Authority of Singapore’ is one of these.
