All India Muslim Jamaat President Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi Barelvi has criticized Bollywood actor Salman Khan for wearing Ram Janmabhoomi watch, saying that Islam is forbidden to promote non-Islamic symbols.
Talking to ANI, Barelvi said, “Salman Khan, a famous Muslim personality in India, is wearing a watch called ‘Ram version’ to promote the Ram temple. I want to make it clear that it is not justified to promote non-Islamic institutions or religious symbols for any Muslim including Salman Khan.
He advised the actor to repent, respect Islamic law (Sharia) and follow his principles.
Barelvi said, “Such acts are unfair and prohibited. The person involved should apologize and ensure that they do not make this mistake again. I advise Salman Khan to respect Islamic law (Sharia) and follow his principles.”
Maulvi said that wearing and promoting the “Ram version” watch is equivalent to supporting non-Islamic religious symbols, which is unacceptable according to him.
Barelvi said, “Wearing and propagating the ‘Ram version’ watch and promoting it is similar to promoting idols or non-Islamic religious symbols, which is unfair and prohibited according to Islamic law. They should avoid it and apologize.”
Salman Khan was recently seen wearing a “Ram Edition” watch in an Instagram post. Salman Khan’s limited edition Ram Janmabhoomi Clock attracted attention during the promotion of his upcoming film Alexander. In an Instagram post related to the film, he was seen wearing a watch, with a smooth gold dial and an orange strap.
The case of this limited version has a complex carvings on the case, which reflects elements associated with Ram Janmabhoomi. The Ram Janmabhoomi temple has a detailed carvings on the dial. Additionally, there are inscriptions of Hindu deities on dial and bezel.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple was held on January 22 last year, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the main rituals. The statue of Ram Lala was built by the famous sculptor of Karnataka Arun Yogiraj. The idol is 51 inches high and weighs 1.5 tonnes, and Sri Rama is shown as a five -year -old child, standing on the lotus made of the same stone.
