Mainpuri, 14 February (IANS). State government minister Jaiveer Singh hit back after Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav called the state budget a failure. He said that being the leader of the opposition he would say the same. The minister said that new records have been set in every field during the tenure of the BJP government.
While talking to IANS, he said that being the leader of the opposition, Akhilesh Yadav should say this. But, the people of the country and the state are feeling that there was no development in the state during his tenure.
Jaiveer Singh claimed that during the tenure of the BJP government, new records have been set in every field and the state has come out of the image of mafia king and sick state and has become the growth engine of the country.
He said that in the motion of thanks presented by the Chief Minister, by comparatively discussing the situation before 2017 and the present time, it has been made clear that the state has taken a huge leap in the direction of development.
Referring to the traditions of democracy, Jaiveer Singh said that the beauty of Indian democracy is that the opposition points out shortcomings in the policies and programs of the government and also gives suggestions for improvements. Both the ruling party and the opposition play an important role in the development of the state and the country. He alleged that at present the opposition is only doing politics of ruckus and deadlock instead of playing its constructive role.
Responding to Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav’s allegation of not being given an opportunity to speak in the Lok Sabha and the Speaker adopting a unilateral attitude, Jaiveer Singh said that whether it is the Lok Sabha or the Assembly, the House is run according to the rules, standards and traditions and not due to the noise of any party. He said that discipline and decorum are paramount in the parliamentary system and proceedings are conducted accordingly.
Jaiveer Singh supported the statement given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding Avimukteshwarananda. Jaiveer Singh said that the whole country knows that according to the traditions of Sanatan culture, there are four Shankaracharyas of four Peethas and the council of those Peethas decides who will become the Shankaracharya.
He clarified that the Chief Minister did not say who is there or who is not, rather he talked about the dignity and decorum of traditions. He said that such traditions provide new energy to our culture and they should be respected.
