Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has made special arrangements to ensure smooth and safe travel of passengers on Holi festival. Under this, additional buses will be operated from 28 February to 9 March. Along with this, excellent employees will be provided incentive amount of Rs 3600 to Rs 4500. State Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said that the travel pressure from Western Uttar Pradesh including Delhi and Ghaziabad is high, hence adequate number of buses and staff will be ensured in advance in these areas. If 60 percent passenger load is achieved from the starting point, additional buses will be run in other parts of the state also. He directed that 100 percent corporation buses should be kept on-road and employees of contracted buses should not be given leave during the festival period. Vehicle owners should complete the repair work on time and make the buses available for operation. Yogi government has given top priority to safety during the yatra. Instructions have been given to control the situation of jam or accident and maintain smooth operations. Enforcement teams will remain on duty continuously and breath analyzer tests will be conducted on drivers and conductors.
Instructions have been given to ensure that the technical condition of buses is in good condition, seats are in good condition, window glasses are in good condition and fire safety equipment is available. It has also been asked to maintain cleanliness in bus stations and buses. Special incentive amount will be given to drivers and operators (including contract and outsourcing) who do excellent work during the festival period. On driving an average of 300 km per day, you will get Rs 3600 at the rate of Rs 360 per day.
On completing 10 days of full duty and meeting the prescribed standards, an additional honorarium of Rs 4500 will be provided at the rate of Rs 450 per day and 55 paise per kilometer additional honorarium for exceeding the prescribed standard. Employees working in depots and regional workshops will also be given a lump sum amount of Rs 2100 for 10 days of continuous duty and Rs 1800 for nine days of duty. Employees and officers who do excellent work during the incentive period will be given additional incentive amount on the recommendation of the regional committee.
Certificates of appreciation will be given to the regional managers and service managers of the three regions earning the highest income per bus and the assistant regional managers of 10 depots.
