Jalaun news: The Samajwadi Party protested in Orai on Monday against high electricity bills and smart meter problems in Jalaun district. A large number of workers came out on the road under the leadership of SP District President Deepraj Gurjar and SP MP Narayan Das Ahirwar.
SP leaders protested against the electricity department and the government. He has alleged that due to disturbances in smart meters and corruption, more economic pressure is increasing on the general public and farmers.
Public is pressing under the burden of debt
The SP District President said that due to the negligence and corruption of the electricity department, the public is constantly being given wrong bills. Consumer bills have increased manifold due to smart meter flaws. Due to which people are coming under debt pressure. He said that irrigation is being affected due to lack of electricity in farmers’ fields, while their bills are constantly increasing. Both farmer and general consumers are worried about this situation.
24 -hour power should be made available at tube wells
After the protest, a representative group of Samajwadi Party presented a memorandum to City Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma to the Governor. The memorandum requested that the irregularities in electricity bills be corrected immediately.
Along with this, help should be provided to farmers and domestic consumers. Farmers should be passed electricity day and night for their fields. The party also urged that the strict action should be taken against the corruption present in the electricity department, so that the general public can get its rights.
