Nissan is preparing to launch its new Nissan Tecton SUV in India. This SUV will fall in the mid-size category, whose length will be around 4.2 to 4.5 meters. According to many reports, this vehicle is being built on the platform of new generation Renault Duster. This SUV has been spotted testing several times recently, including recently in Pimpri area near Pune. It is believed that its design may be inspired by Nissan’s larger and more popular SUV, Nissan Patrol.
What will the design of the Nissan Tecton look like?
The model seen during testing is probably the base variant, as it was fitted with steel wheels. The SUV has square wheel arches. Its rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar, and its roofline looks slightly curved. At the rear, it has a spoiler on the roof, and the rear windshield looks slightly sloping. Additionally, it is expected to have C-shaped, connected LED taillamps and a large bumper. The front design is expected to have LED DRLs at the top, full-width LED light bar and sharp LED headlights.
Nissan tecton interior and features
The interior design of the Nissan Tecton may be slightly different from the Renault Duster. However, many parts of both the vehicles may be similar. The company may offer different dashboard design, new seat cover options and different interior themes. The top variant of this SUV is expected to have many modern features. It may have a large dual-screen setup, in which the infotainment system and instrument cluster will be integrated. It may also have features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, advanced air filter, automatic dual-zone climate control and wireless mobile charging. For safety, ADAS safety system can also be installed in it.
Nissan Tecton Engine and Launch Plan
Nissan has not yet officially revealed the engine specifications of Tecton, but it is believed that it will have the same engines as the upcoming new Duster. It is expected to have 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.3-litre turbo petrol and 1.8-litre turbo petrol hybrid engines. Once launched, the Nissan Tecton will compete with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hybrid and the Skoda Kushaq. Earlier it was expected to be launched in February, but now the launch date has been postponed and the new date is yet to be announced.
