New Delhi, March 6 (IANS). As soon as the summer season starts, the biggest challenge is to get energy. In such a situation, many such fruits start appearing in the markets, which along with providing coolness and energy to the body, are also helpful in preventing many diseases. Among these, Falsa is a special and sweet and sour fruit.

Consuming Phalsa in summer not only protects from heatstroke and heat, but also strengthens digestion, diabetes, heart health and immunity. The scientific name of Phalsa is Grevia Asiatica. It is grown extensively in arid and semi-arid areas of India such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

According to the National Library of Science of the US National Institutes of Health, phalsa contains vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, iron and abundant fiber. It has very less calories and fat. Magnesium, potassium, sodium and protein are also present. All these elements together make Phalsa a powerful immunity booster.

The biggest benefit of Phalsa in summer is that it cools the body from inside, protects from heatstroke and removes weakness caused by sweating. Its juice acts like a natural tonic. Drinking its juice also provides energy.

According to Ayurveda, consumption of ripe Phalsa is beneficial in case of blood deficiency or anemia. It also proves to be a panacea for skin irritation, stomach irritation, bile disorders, high blood pressure, cholesterol and digestive problems. Phalsa keeps the digestive system healthy, controlling both constipation and diarrhea. It is considered beneficial for both body and mind. Being rich in antioxidants, it is also helpful in preventing many serious diseases.

The special thing is that Phalsa can be eaten fresh, its juice can be made or it can also be added to chaat and salad. Its taste is sweet and sour, so some people may suffer from allergies or mild stomach problems if eaten in large quantities. Therefore, try it in small quantities first and if necessary, consult a doctor or nutritionist.
