New Delhi, March 7 (IANS). The number of billionaires in India has increased to 308, which is 24 more than last year. This information has been revealed in ‘Hurun Global Rich List 2026’ of Hurun Research Institute.
With this increase, India has reached third place in the world in terms of the number of billionaires. In this list, America and China are at first and second place respectively.
According to the report, the total wealth of Indian billionaires has increased by 10 percent on an annual basis and has increased to Rs 112.6 lakh crore. Of these, an increase in the wealth of 199 billionaires has been recorded.
However, the wealth of 109 billionaires declined or remained stable. According to the report, the share of women among India’s billionaires is about 7 percent.
According to the Hurun report, the number of billionaires in India is now expanding beyond traditional industries into many new sectors. This indicates that economic development in the country is taking place in many different sectors.

Mumbai still remains the largest center of billionaires in India, where 95 billionaires live. However, the status of the capital of billionaires in Asia has now gone to Shenzhen, China, where there are 133 billionaires.
15 new billionaires were added to Mumbai this year, which is more than New York (14) and London (9).
