If you are planning to handle any important banking related work today—Thursday, March 26, 2026—then it is very important to ensure that banks are open in your city before leaving home. Today, on March 26, 2026, the festival of Ram Navami is being celebrated across the country. In such a situation, as soon as the day starts, the first question that comes to the mind of many people is: Are banks open or closed today? Can important banking work be done by visiting the bank branch today? While some people may need to deposit cheques, others may need to withdraw cash; In such a situation, before leaving home to do any banking related work, it is very important to ensure whether the bank branch is open in your city or not.

Please note that on the occasion of Ram Navami, banks will remain closed today in many parts of the country. Since bank holidays in India are decided on the basis of specific local festivals of each state, if a bank is closed in one city, it does not mean that there will be a holiday in other cities too. Therefore, to find out exactly when and where banks will be closed due to Ram Navami, it is better to check the RBI bank holidays list. If you go to the bank without prior information, you may find the branch closed, which may delay your important work. Come, let us tell you whether banks are open today in your city or not, and we will also give you the schedule of upcoming bank holidays, so that you do not have to face any kind of problem.

Bank holiday today: Where are the banks closed today, March 26?
If you live in the cities/areas given below, you will not be able to do any banking transaction by visiting the bank branch today. On the occasion of Ram Navami, banks will remain closed today in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Nagpur, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. If you live in any of these states, you will not be able to go to the bank branch to do any banking related work today. However, banks will remain open today in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kochi and Srinagar.

Bank holidays will continue in these cities tomorrow, March 27: see list
Tomorrow—Friday, March 27, 2026—Ram Navami celebrations will continue in some states. According to the RBI calendar, banks will remain closed tomorrow in Hyderabad, Patna, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok and Vijayawada. Apart from this, tomorrow will also be a holiday in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.

**Continuous bank holidays in the last week of March**
There will be continuous holidays in the last week of March due to festivals and weekends:

**26 March (Thursday):** Banks will remain closed in many states on the occasion of Ram Navami.
**27 March (Friday):** Banks will remain closed in some states on the occasion of Ram Navami/Chaitra Dashain.
**28th March (Saturday):** Due to it being the fourth Saturday of the month, banks will remain closed across the country.
**29 March (Sunday):** Due to it being a weekend, banks will remain closed across the country.
**31 March (Tuesday):** There will be a holiday in some states on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

Will online banking and ATMs continue to work?
The good news is that even though bank branches are closed, online banking services will remain operational 24×7. You can do transactions like UPI, NEFT and RTGS through your mobile banking app or internet banking portal. Apart from this, facilities like withdrawing cash from ATM, depositing bills and checking balance will also continue to work as before.

Due to this long list of bank holidays, crowding at branches may increase, and tasks like check clearance may get delayed. Therefore, to avoid any hassle, plan your banking activities in advance. Before visiting the bank branch, always check the official list of RBI holidays.
