New Delhi. The efforts being made to curb pollution in the national capital Delhi seem to be bearing fruit. In the information given by the Delhi Environment Ministry, it was said that the multi-dimensional campaign started by the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to control pollution seems to be successful. In this sequence, the impact of many ongoing actions at the scientific and civil level is continuously visible. In the cloud seeding trial conducted in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, a decline of up to 41.9 percent in particulate matter (PM10) was recorded in areas like Mayur Vihar and Burari. A significant improvement in AQI levels was also seen in these areas. Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that science-based policy is the real strength of Delhi’s Clean Air Mission. The trial results are encouraging despite low humidity, but our focus is not on just one solution; We are bringing together technology and civic engagement to deliver real improvements for the people.
Sirsa said that Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 279 on Wednesday, which is a sign of gradual improvement on a daily basis. He said that this improvement is not the result of any single step, but of the entire system working together. Delhi government stands behind every step which is scientifically proven and directly benefits the public.
He said that the next cloud seeding trial will be conducted as per the weather and humidity conditions in the coming days. Delhi Government is moving towards clean air by combining both scientific innovation and ground action.
Earlier, while sharing information on social media platform ‘X’, Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the second trial of cloud seeding was conducted in Delhi on Tuesday. For this, Cessna aircraft took off from Kanpur and landed at Meerut Airport via Khekra, Burari, North Karol Bagh, Mayur Vihar, Sadakpur and Bhojpur. During this, 8 cloud seeding flares were released using fireworks technology.
Now the team of IIT Kanpur believes that it may rain in Delhi at any time. For this, I want to thank the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, due to which we have been successful in conducting the second trial.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had recently said that experts had conducted tests for artificial rainfall in Burari area. He had said that for the first time in Delhi, preparations for artificial rainfall through cloud seeding have been completed. This experiment will prove to be a historic step towards cleaning the air of the capital.
