Bhopal, March 30 (IANS). Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will attend the ‘Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Conference’ in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
The objective of this conference is to strengthen partnership in trade, investment and skills between the two neighboring states. In this, agreements will also be signed between the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in many sectors like trade, industrial investment, skill development, handicraft promotion and tourism.
This conference will include exchange of innovations and best practices from Uttar Pradesh to enhance inter-state cooperation in promoting local economy and regional industries.
In this important event, special emphasis will be laid on linking One District-One Product initiatives, GI-tagged products, traditional crafts and agri-food products with branding, marketing and export opportunities.
State ministers, senior officials and policymakers from both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will participate, focusing on the implementation and future direction of the ODOP initiative.
The ODOP initiative identifies unique products from each district, links them through production, processing, value addition, branding, packaging and market access.
It has been designed as a comprehensive value-chain model that provides sustainable economic opportunities to artisans, farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs rather than just preserving traditional products.
The Madhya Pradesh government said in a statement on Monday that the event is expected to create new market opportunities for ODOP products, accelerate exports and provide a big platform for artisans and entrepreneurs. Cooperation and exchange of information between the two states will strengthen ODOP as a strong national economic model.
Madhya Pradesh will present this model of economic empowerment for local producers and artisans in this conference. The state’s ODOP efforts have received national recognition, including a Silver Award at the ODOP Awards 2024.
