Hisar/Chandigarh.
The ‘dark clouds’ looming over the sky of Haryana have once again created a scary scene in the state. The change in nature has put the entire state on ‘high alert’. Since the morning of April 4, thunder and lightning have created an atmosphere like a disaster movie. Orange Alert: Shadow of ‘sky disaster’ in these 6 districts
The Meteorological Department has sounded the ‘Orange Alert’ siren for the southern and eastern parts of the state.
Hotspot: Winds will blow at ‘stormy’ speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh (Mewat), Mahendragarh and Rewari.
Hailstorm: There is a possibility of lightning and large scale hailstorm in these districts.
Flashback: ‘White sheet’ of hail spread in Nuh
The scene of the last 24 hours was no less than a thriller. In Nuh, the weather changed so suddenly in the afternoon that white sheets of hail covered the roads. In Sirsa, a house ‘crashed’ due to lightning and a girl was seriously injured. Torrential rains have also shown ‘action’ in Bhiwani, Hisar and Panipat.
Temperature drops: ‘Climax’ of summer still far away
Continuous rain and hail have weakened the heat. A huge drop of 3.6 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the average temperature of the state. While Nuh was the hottest at 34.8 degrees, now the temperature in Chandigarh, Rohtak and Karnal has dropped to between 30 to 33 degrees. There are chances of further coolness in the coming 2-3 days.
‘Red Signal’ for farmers (Advisory)
Strict instructions have been issued to save crops from this ‘villain’ incarnation of nature:
Ban on harvesting: It has been asked to completely stop the harvesting and threshing of wheat and mustard for the next 3-4 days.
Safety of animals: Do not leave animals in the open, keep them in safe sheds.
Irrigation: Do not water the crops at present, otherwise strong winds can destroy the crops.
Warning: ‘Yellow alert’ of rain continues in 9 cities of Haryana. Before leaving the house, be sure to gauge the mood of the sky, because this ‘filmy’ turn of the weather can be overwhelming at any time!
