New Delhi, April 8 (IANS). On the martyrdom day of the immortal hero of the 1857 revolution, Mangal Pandey, many big leaders including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to him. He remembered the courage, sacrifice and contribution of revolutionary Mangal Pandey in the revolution of 1857 and described him as an inspiration for patriotism.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla wrote on the social media platform Will always inspire generations to stand against injustice and keep the national interest paramount.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote in the ‘ I salute the great freedom fighter Mangal Pandey on his martyrdom day.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda also paid tribute to the great freedom fighter Mangal Pandey. He wrote, “I pay my tribute to Mangal Pandey, the brave son of Mother India and the immortal martyr who ignited the flame of revolution by raising the bugle of rebellion against the British, on his martyrdom day.”
He further wrote, “Mangal Pandey, the great revolutionary who raised the first cry for the freedom struggle, shook the foundation of the British rule by sacrificing his life on this very day in 1857 and the spark of the freedom struggle started by him spread across the country. The sacrifice and sacrifice made by Mangal Pandey for the unity and integrity of India will be remembered by the entire nation for eternity.”
Paying tribute to Mangal Pandey, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi wrote, “The flame of rebellion that he ignited against the British rule from Barrackpur Cantonment, later took the form of a huge Mahayagya of independence. His supreme sacrifice for the motherland is an inspiration for all patriots.”
