Hyderabad, April 21 (IANS). The political temperature in Telangana, which is battling the scorching heat, has also increased. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and opposition leader K. The heated war of words between Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) has heated up the political atmosphere.
On Monday night, both the leaders fiercely targeted each other in separate public meetings and gave open challenges.
Addressing a public meeting held in Jagtial, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former chief minister KCR claimed that his party will return to power. He said that as soon as he comes to power, the file to abolish the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency will be signed first.
This public meeting was organized on the occasion of former minister T. Jeevan Reddy joining the party. KCR also announced his appointment as the general secretary of BRS.
While KCR said BRS’s “victory journey” would start from Jagtial, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hit back saying they would bury BRS and KCR “100 meters under the ground” in the next elections.
Revanth Reddy also challenged that he will change his name if he fails to remove KCR from the post of Leader of Opposition in the next elections. In a public meeting held at Nasturapalli in Karimnagar district, he said that the Congress government will come back to power in the 2029 elections by winning more than 100 seats.
The Chief Minister, after visiting the Medigadda Barrage (which is part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project), alleged that there was massive corruption in the project built during the BRS regime.
He said that “even if KCR is hanged for wasting Rs 1 lakh crore in the Kaleshwaram project, it will not be a sin.” He also said that if he had lived during the Nizam era, KCR would have been hanged for this scam.
Revanth Reddy said that in view of the democratic system and rule of law, the state government has decided to hand over the investigation of this case to CBI. He also targeted the BJP government at the Center and said that despite the request of the state government, a CBI inquiry was not ordered.
The Chief Minister said the government will not spare those responsible for this “large-scale corruption”. He alleged that fearing the possibility of investigation, BRS leader T. Harish Rao is going to Delhi and pleading with BJP leaders.
Revanth Reddy’s comments come at a time when the Telangana High Court is soon going to pronounce its verdict on the petitions filed by KCR, Harish Rao and others before Justice P.C. Demanded to cancel the Ghosh Commission report.
At the same time, in Jagtial’s public meeting, KCR accused the Congress government of running “anarchical rule” and expressed confidence that BRS will return to power. He also appealed for a new movement to remove the Congress government.
KCR, who was seen on a public platform after a long time, hit back at Revanth Reddy in his aggressive style and said that “despite those wishing for his death, he will continue to serve Telangana till his last breath.”
He said, “Even if I have to be born a thousand times, I will keep fighting for Telangana. Even if they take a hundred births, they cannot separate me from the people.”
Along with this, he accused the Congress of not fulfilling the “six guarantees” and more than 420 promises made in the 2023 elections. KCR claimed that no section is satisfied with the Congress government and it has not launched any new scheme yet.
