Bihar Elections: The work to end the deadlock over seat sharing in the Grand Alliance in Bihar has intensified. In this connection, Congress observer for Bihar elections Ashok Gehlot met Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav in Patna. The meeting lasted for an hour. After the meeting, Gehlot said that we had a good talk. Everything will be clear tomorrow Thursday. However, there can be friendly competition on 5 to 7 seats. Gehlot, the party observer for the assembly elections, said, “We had a good conversation with Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Tomorrow is the press conference of the Grand Alliance and everything will be clear. We are going to contest the elections strongly against the NDA.” He also said that Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav will start the election campaign together.
will campaign together
Regarding friendly fight in Bihar, former Chief Minister Gehlot said, “There are 243 seats in Bihar and sometimes there can be friendly contest on 5-7 seats. We will campaign together and also win the elections.” Amid ongoing discussions within the grand alliance of opposition parties regarding seat sharing before the Bihar Assembly elections, Congress on Tuesday clarified that the alliance is completely united and all confusions will end soon.
Friendly war on some seats is not a big deal
Earlier, Ashok Gehlot had said, “All the work is going very well. Whatever confusion is there, it will be completely removed in a day or two.” He had also claimed before the meeting that a situation of friendly competition could arise on some of the 243 assembly seats, but he refused to consider it as a major controversy. He said, “Sometimes there is a lot of enthusiasm among the workers, sometimes such situations arise due to local conditions. This should not be seen as a weakness of the Grand Alliance but as a form of democratic enthusiasm.”
War over seat sharing
Due to the ongoing internal differences between the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Vikassheel Insaan Party and the Left parties regarding seat sharing in the Grand Alliance in Bihar, the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance are trying their luck against each other in at least 11 assembly seats of the state. State Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru also said, “There is a contest on 243 seats in Bihar and this fight is directly against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This is not just a fight for power but a fight for the future of the people of Bihar and their children.” He expressed hope that the Grand Alliance will bring the winds of change in Bihar this time.
