Jaipur. The state government has taken a big step towards making the industrial scenario in Rajasthan globally competitive and providing world-class infrastructure facilities to entrepreneurs. Under the BHAVYA scheme of the Central Government, a proposal has been sent to develop state-of-the-art industrial hubs in five major districts of the state.
The main objective of the ‘Building High Impact Value Yards for Accelerated Development’ (BHAVYA) scheme launched by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) of the Central Government is to strengthen the industrial infrastructure of the country. The scheme will be implemented in two phases, in which 50 industrial areas are to be selected from across the country in each phase. National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) will be the implementing agency of this ambitious scheme. As per the provisions of the scheme, financial assistance up to a maximum of Rs 1 crore per acre will be provided by the Central Government for the development of selected industrial areas. It will be the responsibility of the nodal agency of the state to ensure availability of land. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) model will be used to speed up the projects.
The state government has selected five strategically important districts and sent the proposal to the Centre: These include Balotra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Dausa.
Strategic Advantage and Connectivity
Most of the proposed areas are located in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) influence area. In the selection process, parameters like logistics, availability of raw materials, demand for industrial land and proximity to urban areas have been given priority. State-of-the-art trunk infrastructure and multimodal connectivity will be ensured at these centres.
Development and employment will gain momentum
This initiative will not only attract huge investments but will also create lakhs of new employment opportunities at the local level. Due to better infrastructure and simple administrative system, Rajasthan will emerge as a major industrial powerhouse of the country in the coming times, which will help in removing the regional economic imbalance.
