New Delhi, 18 September (). Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki on Thursday announced a cut in the prices of cars in all its portfolio. The company has made this announcement by delivering full benefits to the customers after a recent change in GST rates.
The biggest cut from Maruti Suzuki is being seen on the entry level models of the company. The prices of Alto and S-Presso are being cut by the company by Rs 1.07 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh respectively.
Similarly, other hatchback cars like Celerio, Wagon-R and Ignis of the company will also save from Rs 71,300 to Rs 1.29 lakh. Apart from this, the company has also reduced the prices of small SUVs.
Strengthening its position in the competition SUV market, the company has cut the prices of famous models like Brezza and Fronx by more than Rs 1 lakh.
This is considered a time cut by Maruti Suzuki in the price of cars, a time when the Indian auto industry has recently seen a decline of four months in sales of passenger vehicles.
According to reports, due to GST improvement, the price cuts will see an increase in demand, especially in the entry-level segment and compact segment, there may be a rapid increase in demand. Because both these segments become a favorite option for customers who buy cars and travel to the city for the first time.
Earlier, major automobile companies, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, Renault and other vehicle manufacturers, have already announced a cut in the prices of all their models.
GST Council reduced two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent on bikes up to 350 cc and small cars up to 350-cc. In addition, GST has been reduced from 12 percent to 5 percent on tractors less than 1800-cc, which will boost mechanization in agriculture.
In addition, the GST rate on large cars without any sub-tax has been reduced to 40 percent.
