tehran,. After the attack by America and Israel started on February 28, Iran had closed its airspace, due to which international flights were not operational. However, for the first time since the attack began, international flights from Tehran have resumed operations. Flight-tracking websites reported four flights from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport to Istanbul as operational on Saturday morning. All of these were operated by Iranian airlines. “The efforts of domestic airlines sent the first group of passengers to Medina, Muscat and Istanbul,” the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
The news agency has predicted an increase in the number of aircraft operations in the coming days. However, it depends on the ceasefire.
American media CNN, quoting flight data, reported that there were no flights to Medina in Saudi Arabia and Muscat in Oman. A spokesperson of Iran’s Defense Ministry claimed that America is trapped in the quagmire of war and is looking for a way to save its honor.
According to the report of Iran’s ISNA media outlet, this statement has come at a time when US President Donald Trump’s special ambassadors Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are going to Pakistan. However, Iran has clearly refused to have direct talks with America, hence now talks between the two sides will take place through the mediation of Pakistan.
Apart from this, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi is already present in Pakistan. There he met Field Marshal Asim Munir of Pakistan. After this he is going to visit Oman and Russia.
According to news agency Xinhua, Araghchi will not talk directly to American officials during his visit.
According to Tasnim News Agency, in Muscat, the capital of Oman, they will discuss regional issues and war-related topics, while in Russia they will discuss bilateral, regional and international situations.
Araghchi commented on his visit through a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Friday, writing that he was visiting Islamabad, Muscat and Moscow. He said, “The purpose of my visits is to establish close coordination with our partners on bilateral matters and consult on regional developments. Our neighbors are our priority.”
Tasnim also pointed out that Iran currently has no plans to hold talks with the US and the purpose of Araghchi’s visit to Islamabad is not to hold talks with the US side.
