Bikaner, April 26 (IANS). Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has targeted the opposition regarding the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill. He said that there was a well-planned conspiracy by the opposition, that is why he did not support it.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, while talking to journalists, said that due to the attitude of the opposition, anger is being seen among women. Its results will be seen soon.
She said that since 1927, women have been trying to get political representation, especially in the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly, but till date the opposition had not paid attention to it. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took notice of this, the opposition started opposing it.
The Union Law Minister said that Reservation 2023, which was passed unanimously to provide representation to women, could not be implemented. The opposition is stopping it by protesting one after the other.
He said that every opposition party has given different arguments for this, which is not correct. We should stay together for the country and work in the interest of the public. Samajwadi Party said, “Give reservation to Muslim women.” There is no such provision in the Constitution itself. Someone said, “Give reservation to OBC women,” so it was a matter of amending the 2023 bill. That is a different topic and can be discussed some other time. Similarly, each party has given different arguments.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have told its benefits so many times, but the opposition MPs are not paying attention to it, which is not right for the country. He said that it does not make any sense that it should not be linked to the assembly elections. We have been sent here to work in the public interest, that is what we should do.
