Ranchi, April 26 (IANS). Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the schemes being run through voluntary organizations under the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department and the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare Department. Along with this, he took information from the officials about the operations, activities and work progress of the schemes being carried out by the voluntary organizations.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officials to prepare a digitalization database of the work being done through voluntary organizations under the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department and the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare Department. On this occasion, he reviewed the work progress of many other schemes including operation of children’s homes, operation of old age homes under Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya, run by the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department through NGOs.

While reviewing the Sakhi Niwas operations under Mission Shakti, the CM directed the officials to immediately prepare a data base related to working women within the state and dedicate it to the department. In the meeting, the officials informed the Chief Minister that through Sakhi Niwas Yojana, it is being operated with the aim of promoting the availability of safe and convenient accommodation with day care facilities to the working women living in hostels.

He directed the officers to make an action plan to involve the institutions formed by self-help groups for running schemes like Shakti Sadan. Took information about the work progress of the self-funded children’s home and old age home operated under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme and also gave necessary guidelines to the officials.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the schemes run by NGOs under the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare Department.

The Chief Minister directed the officials that there is a need to move forward by making a better action plan to promote digital and online education in the state. Along with running the hospital, hostel and school, the welfare department should also run the nursing college. At present, there are many employment opportunities in the field of nursing.

He directed the officials to give priority to such schemes which provide maximum employment to the youth within the state. The Chief Minister directed the officials to run the hostel nutrition scheme by forming a district level committee. In the meeting, the Chief Minister also told the officials about the formation of a society by the state government to run several schemes. In the meeting, there was a discussion between the Chief Minister and officials on running the ashram schools established in the state on the lines of Eklavya Vidyalaya.

CM Hemant Soren told the officials during the review that strong implementation of basic facilities like education, housing and health is the priority of the state government. The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on quality education in schools, availability of modern resources and all-round development of students. Besides, instructions were also given to ensure a safe, clean and friendly environment for the children living in the hostel.

The Chief Minister directed the officials that regular monitoring of all the schemes should be done. The Chief Minister talked about ensuring transparency and accountability so that the benefits of the schemes run by the Welfare Department reach the last person. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that all the officers will work with dedication and responsibility to make the schemes more effective so that the weaker sections of the society can directly benefit.
