New Delhi, April 28 (IANS). In many states including the capital Delhi, the day temperature has crossed 40 degrees, due to which the risk of heatwave is also increasing. In such a situation, it becomes very important to take care of your health, because even a little carelessness can cause big problems. Keeping this in view, the Ministry of AYUSH has issued some easy and important first aid tips for the people, so that people can keep themselves safe from the heat.
The Ministry of AYUSH posted on social media that in a heat wave, the body temperature increases rapidly and there is dehydration in the body. In such a situation, conditions like dizziness, feeling weakness, headache, excessive sweating or sometimes even fainting may occur. Therefore, as soon as you feel like this, you should immediately become alert.
If you are feeling dizzy or uneasy, first go to a cool or shady place. Staying in direct sunlight can further increase the risk. After this, the body should be immediately relaxed and loose clothes should be worn, so that the body can get air. It is very important to keep the body hydrated, so keep drinking water frequently. Apart from this, ORS, lemon water or coconut water is also beneficial.
If a person is feeling very hot, then lightly sponging his body with water also provides relief. Due to this the body temperature starts decreasing gradually. But keep in mind that if a person becomes unconscious, do not forcibly give him water or anything to eat or drink.
The Ministry of AYUSH has also advised to avoid going out in the sun during this season, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm, as the heat is at its peak during this time. If it is necessary to go out, cover your head and wear light colored loose clothes.
Special care should also be taken about food. Eat light and fresh food, avoid excessive fried or heavy food. Also, it is better to stay away from things like caffeine and alcohol, because they can dehydrate the body further.
