The history of India is full of women who worked hard to eliminate gender discrimination for their rights. Came forward in the fields of politics, art, science, law etc. Today we are going to tell about some such Indian women, who are the first women in their field-

1. Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa was born on 26 August 1910 in Spoje city of Yugoslavia. Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun. Who took Indian citizenship in 1948. He established ‘Missionaries of Charity’ to take care of the poor, orphans and sick. Which spread to 123 countries during his lifetime. He was awarded the ‘Nobel’ Peace Prize in 1979 and the highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 1980. He died on 15 September 1997. After his death, Pope John Paul II gave him the title of saint.

2. Mithali Raj
Mithali Raj is the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. She is the first woman to score a double century in Test cricket. In 1999, Mithali made her debut in One Day International matches. In which he scored 114 runs. She is the first woman cricketer to score half-centuries seven times in an international one-day match.


3. Indira Gandhi
The name of Indira Gandhi, daughter of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, needs no introduction. She was the first woman Prime Minister of India who served as the Prime Minister of India from January 1966 to March 1977. Then she became Prime Minister from January 1980 to 1984. On 31 October 1984, his guards named Beant Singh and Satwant Singh shot him.

4. Kiran Bedi
The name of the first senior female officer of Indian Police is Kiran Bedi. She has also served as the Intelligence Police Commissioner of Delhi. He started working as a police officer in 1972 and retired in 2007. This popular TV She has also been the host of the show ‘Aapki Kachari’. At present she is the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

5. Saina Nehwal
Saina Nehwal is the world’s top ranked female badminton player. She is the first Indian woman to reach this place. Reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in 2008 after achieving a bronze medal at the London Olympics 2012. She is married to badminton player P. Kashyap. He has been awarded ‘Padmashree’ and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna’.

6. Anandi Gopal Joshi
She gave birth to a son who died after 10 days. Then she vowed that she would become a doctor. At a time when women’s education was difficult, she went abroad and studied medicine. She was the first woman doctor in India.


7. Arunima Sinha
Arunima Sinha is a former national level volleyball player. On 12 April 2011, while going from Lucknow to Delhi, some criminals threw her down from the train, due to which she lost one of her legs. But she did not give up and became the first Indian disabled woman to climb the Everest summit.

8. Pratibha Patil
Pratibha Patil, born on 19 December 1934 in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, studied law. He was married to Devi Singh Shekhawat. She became the first woman President of India in the 60-year history of independent India.

9. Rita Faria
Rita Faria was born in Mumbai in 1945. Got first place in the Miss World competition in 1966. After this he did M.B.B.S. She graduated in and went to London for higher education. After her marriage to David Powell, she started living in Dublin.


10. Sushmita Sen
Sushmita, born on 19 November 1975 in Hyderabad, won the title of Miss India and Miss Universe in 1994. She is the first Indian woman to receive the title of Miss Universe. At present she is a famous actress of Hindi films.
