US President Donald Trump wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 75th birthday through phone calls and thanked for support in ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a post on his social media account Truth Social, Trump said that PM Modi is doing “tremendous work”.
The post wrote, “Just had a very good conversation with his friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wished him a very happy birthday!
A few hours before this, Prime Minister Modi thanked US President Donald Trump for a phone call and said that he is fully committed to taking India-US wide and global partnerships to new heights like a US leader.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi called President Trump “my friend” and said that India supports his initiative for a peaceful solution to Ukraine struggle.
He said, “My friend, President Trump, thank you for your phone calls and heartfelt greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking India-US wide and global partnership to new heights. We support your initiative towards a peaceful solution to Ukraine struggle.”
This congratulations from the US President came on a day when American trade representative Brendon Lynch was in the national capital to discuss the next steps in bilateral trade talks.
Brendon Lynch on Tuesday held a positive meeting with his counterpart, Rajesh Aggarwal, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to discuss the next steps in bilateral trade talks, in which both sides decided to intensify the efforts to complete the efforts to complete the transitatively beneficial trade agreement quickly.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that a team of officials of the United States Trade Representative Office, led by Brandon Lynch, the chief negotiator of the Indo-US bilateral trade agreement negotiations, will visit India on 16 September 2025.
It said, “He discussed Indo-US-US trade relations including Indo-US bilateral trade agreement with officials of the Department of Commerce led by the Special Secretary of the Department of Commerce.”
