New Delhi, May 3 (IANS). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the North Technology Seminar based on the theme ‘Defence Triveni Sangam – the confluence of technology, industry and military capability’ in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on May 4. The three-day event is being jointly organized by the Northern Command and Central Command of the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM).
The symposium will act as a vibrant platform to showcase and integrate cutting-edge indigenous technologies to address operational challenges. The exhibition will see various participants including small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), private defense technology firms, startups and military personnel from across the country.
284 companies are setting up stalls to showcase their latest innovations and technologies. The objective of this event is to identify suitable technologies for field deployment, maintenance processes and to streamline the procurement process, thereby promoting a sustainable and self-reliant defense system for the Indian Army.
The Indian Army has been emphasizing the operational relevance of cutting-edge technology and the need for continuous innovation to meet changing security challenges. The symposium, concluding on 6 May 2026, will act as a bridge between the defense forces, scientists, industry leaders and the academic community, promoting collaboration aimed at strengthening national security and technological excellence.
It is being told that technologies related to drones, all-terrain vehicles, surveillance systems and logistics will be shown in this program. Apart from this, seminars on defense innovation, military construction and new technologies will be organized during the program.
Experts will explain how India is moving towards becoming self-reliant in the defense sector. There is tight security guard at Arail Ghat in view of the arrival of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Along with the police, other soldiers have also been deployed. In view of security, Arail Ghat has been declared a no flying zone by the police.
