Chennai . The announcement of Class 12 (Plus-Two) public examination results is likely to be delayed due to the ongoing change in the state government after the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results. Higher secondary level public examinations in Tamil Nadu were held from March 2 to March 26, in which around eight lakh students from across the state appeared. The evaluation of answer sheets was completed between April 6 and April 20 and the officials planned to release the results on May 8 as per the previously announced date. Students and parents across the state are waiting for the announcement of the results, especially after the evaluation process is completed and the marks are uploaded on the official examination portal. However, officials have indicated that the announcement may be delayed due to lack of necessary formal approval from the government in view of recent political developments in the state.
Senior officials of the School Education Department and the Directorate of Government Examinations said that all technical preparations for publishing the results have already been completed.
“The evaluation process has been completed and the marks of the students have been uploaded on the website. Since there is currently a change in the government, permission will have to be obtained from the new administration before the results are officially released,” an official said.
Sources said the education department is waiting for the formation of the new government and completion of administrative processes before seeking final approval for the declaration of results.
Although this delay is expected to be temporary, it has created concern among students who are preparing for admission and admission processes in higher education that depend on their plus-two scores.
However, officials assured that the results will be published soon as necessary approvals are received. He also informed that steps are being taken to complete the remaining formalities as soon as possible so that the students do not face any further problems.
The Plus Two examination in Tamil Nadu is considered one of the most important academic milestones in the state, determining admission to undergraduate courses, professional programs and various higher education streams.
