Jaipur. On National Technology Day, May 11, a one-day state level function will be organized by the Department of Science and Technology in the auditorium of Birla Institute of Scientific Research, Jaipur. Dr. Aarushi Malik, Government Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, said that the chief guest of the ceremony will be Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the department Sanjay Sharma and Chief Secretary V. Srinivas will also attend the function. Dr. Aarushi Malik has cordially invited all the educational institutions, innovators, startups and general public for active participation in this event. On May 11, 1998, nuclear tests were conducted in Pokhran under Operation Shakti. To commemorate this, every year May 11 is celebrated as National Technology Day. This day symbolizes India’s scientific capability, self-reliance and resolve for innovation-based development.
The objective of this state level event is to increase public awareness towards science, technology and innovation, to inspire students and youth for research and entrepreneurship and to provide a platform for innovations from grassroots level to institutional level.
Students, innovators, representatives of educational and research institutions of the state will participate in the program. Innovators identified by the National Innovation Foundation will also participate in this.
In the function, there will be working scientific and technological models and painting competitions on the theme of “Technology for a Sustainable Future”, innovators and winners will be felicitated and an innovation and technology exhibition will be organised.
Prestigious institutions like ISRO, DRDO, IIT, Jodhpur, MNIT, Jaipur, BITS Pilani are also participating in this exhibition.
Dr. Malik said that this program will be an important step towards strengthening the innovation ecosystem in the state, encouraging innovators and promoting technology-based inclusive growth.
