Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the program organized on the occasion of completion of one year of Operation Sindoor-Shaurya, Samman and Bravery at Doon Sainik Institute, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun on Monday.
The Chief Minister said that due to the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the bravery of the Army, Operation Sindoor against terrorism was successfully carried out. Expressing his gratitude towards the courage and bravery of the Army, the Chief Minister said that due to the courage, dedication and sacrifice of the Army, the enemy can never dare to raise an eye towards India.
The Chief Minister said that Operation Sindoor will continue to inspire the coming generations also. He said that while the entire country was sleeping, the forces targeted and destroyed the terrorist hideouts operating in Pakistan in 22 minutes. The Chief Minister said that the country’s state-of-the-art air defense system foiled the attacks coming towards India and did not allow even a single missile to fall on Indian soil. The Indian forces, with their bravery, made Pakistan surrender to India for a ceasefire within four days.
The Chief Minister said that every family in Uttarakhand has some member in the army, hence we have an emotional attachment with the army and soldiers. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, along with boosting the morale of the soldiers, the army is being equipped with state-of-the-art technology and weapons. Along with becoming self-reliant in the defense sector, India is also exporting defense equipment and resources to many other countries.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, a historic increase of 38 times has been recorded in the export of defense material in the last 12 years. India is providing defense equipment, weapons and other defense materials to more than 80 countries of the world. He said that Operation Sindoor has proved that our indigenous weapons are many times better than the weapons of any other country.
The Chief Minister said that this is the new India, which gives a befitting reply to every nefarious act of the enemies. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, many important decisions are being taken in the interests of the soldiers. Many works like One Rank One Pension Scheme, construction of National War Memorial, increase in defense budget, strengthening the infrastructure on the border have been done.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has increased the ex-gratia amount given to the families of martyrs by five times. Various facilities are being provided to ex-servicemen. The lump sum and annual honorarium given to soldiers decorated with all gallantry awards in the Army, from Param Vir Chakra to Mention in Despatches, has been increased.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has also decided to accommodate a family member of a martyred soldier in a government job, along with this the period for applying for a government job has also been increased from 2 years to 5 years. Free travel arrangements have been made in government buses for soldiers and ex-servicemen who have received gallantry awards in the state. 25 percent exemption in stamp duty is also being provided to ex-servicemen on the purchase of permanent property worth Rs 25 lakh.
Sainik Welfare Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi said that Operation Sindoor is not just the name of a military operation, but it is a symbol of India’s firm pledge that no tampering with the honor of our mothers and sisters, the sovereignty of the nation and the safety of citizens will be tolerated.
The Sainik Welfare Minister said that vermillion is a symbol of women’s respect, good fortune and strength in Indian culture. When this operation was named Operation Sindoor, the message was clear that India stands firmly at every level for the respect and security of its mother power. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has repeatedly proved that the new India does not tolerate injustice, but gives a befitting reply to it.
On this occasion, Secretary Soldier Welfare Shri Yugal Kishore Pant, retired army officer Major General Shami Sabharwal, Major General D Agnihotri, Major General PS Rana, MD Upanal Brigadier JNS Bisht, Brigadier KG Bahal, Director Soldier Welfare Shyam Singh, Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, Vice Admiral Anurag Thapliyal and others were present.
